Decarbonisation’s economic opportunity in the South West to be focus of major conference in Bristol

A major event is being held in Bristol on 24th May, which will focus on the economic opportunity that decarbonisation represents for the South West region

Keynote speaker is Darren Jones, Chief Shadow Secretary for the Treasury and Bristol North West MP. He will be joined by business and political figures, skills providers and expert consultants across the region.

Key topics that will be debated during the day-long event, include:

  • The central pillars of an economic development ‘greenprint’ to enable the region’s economy to take full advantage of decarbonisation;
  • Financing the region’s decarbonisation transition;
  • The policies that will be required to power a low carbon economy;
  • Delivering sustainable transport solutions;
  • Establishing the South West as a hotbed for innovations that support sustainable development;
  • Removing the barriers that have the potential to stand in the way of a high performing decarbonisation powered-economy;
  • The skills that need to be established to support the progress of decarbonisation, and with it the South West’s economic fortunes.
